Swipe ("we," "our," or "the app") is an iOS app that lets users browse photos and videos from their photo library and optionally use AI-powered editing features. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, when it is shared, how long it may be retained, and what choices users have.
Photo Library. Swipe requests access to the user's photo library so the app can display photos and videos in a swipeable feed and power related gallery features. Photo and video content is read from the device through Apple's Photos framework.
AI Feature Inputs. If a user chooses to use an AI feature, Swipe accesses only the specific content the user selected for that feature. Depending on the feature, this may include:
Purchase Information. Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple using StoreKit. We do not receive or store full payment card information.
We use accessed information only to:
Swipe does not upload the user's photo library by default.
Information is sent off the device only when the user intentionally uses an AI feature and confirms the in-app AI privacy consent prompt. In those cases, the app may transmit the selected content and related prompt data to our servers or proxy infrastructure and then to the third-party AI providers needed to complete the request.
This may include:
We share data only as needed to provide specific app features chosen by the user.
Apple. Apple processes subscriptions, purchases, and certain system permissions. Apple's handling of data is governed by Apple's own privacy terms.
Google Gemini. When the user uses AI image editing features, selected image data and prompt data may be sent through our proxy to Google's Gemini services to generate the requested result.
xAI / Grok. When the user uses image-to-video or related AI video generation features, selected image data and prompt data may be sent through our proxy to xAI / Grok services to generate the requested result.
Stability AI or Stability-powered Services. When the user uses erase or similar editing features, selected image data and mask data may be sent through our proxy or supporting service providers to perform the requested edit.
Service Providers / Proxy Infrastructure. We may use server or proxy infrastructure operated by us or by hosting providers to securely route requests to third-party AI providers, enforce app security, and return results to the app.
We require third-party services we use for app functionality to protect data appropriately and to use transmitted data only for providing the requested service, subject to their own terms, policies, and legal obligations.
On the device, Swipe may store:
This data is generally stored locally on the user's device.
We do not intentionally collect or store the following for our own analytics or advertising purposes:
We do not use user photo content for advertising.
AI features are optional.
Before transmitting selected content to an external AI service, Swipe presents an in-app prompt that explains what data will be sent, who it will be sent to, and why it is being sent. By tapping "Continue," the user consents to the collection, use, and sharing of that selected content and prompt data for the purpose of providing AI-powered features.
If the user does not use AI features, Swipe does not send their selected photo content to third-party AI services for processing.
Users can revoke photo library permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Users can also reset their AI privacy consent inside the app by using the Reset AI Privacy Consent setting. After it is reset, the app will show the AI privacy consent prompt again before the next AI request is sent.
Photo library content is not permanently copied to our servers merely because the app has gallery access.
For AI processing requests, transmitted content is used only to fulfill the requested feature. We aim to minimize retention and store data only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested result, protect the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve abuse or security issues.
AI-generated results saved by the user may remain on the user's device until deleted by the user.
If you contact us with a question about your data or want to request deletion of information that may have been processed through our services, contact us at the email address below and we will review the request in accordance with applicable law and our operational responsibilities.
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect data in transit and reduce unnecessary access. AI requests are transmitted over network connections intended to be encrypted in transit.
No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information used by the app.
Swipe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Depending on the third-party provider used for a requested AI feature, data may be processed on servers located outside the user's country or region.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and publish the revised version through the app or linked policy page.
